What players should know
Stendhal is a free multiplayer online role-playing game from the Arianne Project. Explore towns, wilderness, caves, and dungeons; meet hundreds of characters; complete quests; trade, fight, and build up your hero. The project's official download page provides the classic Java desktop client for Windows, macOS, and Linux. A browser client is available separately. The linked gameplay video is a historical introduction to an earlier version, so the current client may look different. Code license: Desktop client GPL-2.0-or-later; web client AGPL-3.0-or-later. Media/package license: Mixed credited project graphics under GPL-compatible and Creative Commons licenses; exact per-image license is not asserted for screenshots.. Attribution and distribution: Stendhal is developed by the Arianne Project and contributors. Desktop code is GPL v2 or later; the web client has a separate AGPL license.
