Privacy policy

How NeonRoof collects, uses, protects, and gives you control over your information.

Effective August 30, 2026

What this policy covers

This policy covers the NeonRoof website, WPF desktop launcher, community features, game library, marketplace, publisher tools, wallet-related platform features, and support systems. A game or third-party service available through NeonRoof may have its own privacy policy.

Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, display name, authentication records, profile text, avatar, date of birth, age-band and family-safety preferences.
  • Guardian information: for teen accounts, a guardian email address, approval status, and a one-way protected PIN hash. NeonRoof does not store the readable guardian PIN.
  • Community content: posts, chat messages, direct messages, uploaded images, reactions, friend and block relationships, and reports you submit.
  • Store, website, and launcher activity: authenticated sign-ins and page activity, claims, purchases, licenses, install requests, selected library folder, game activity, likes, and transaction status. Anonymous traffic analytics are kept separate from the owner-facing authenticated account activity view.
  • Publisher information: studio name, legal name, contact details, country, submitted game metadata and builds, government-ID and face-photo verification files, publisher-terms acceptance records, electronic signature records, and review status.
  • Wallet and payment information: linked public wallet addresses, transaction references, Stripe connected-account identifier, and Stripe-provided onboarding, charge, and payout status. Stripe collects applicable legal entity, beneficial-owner, tax, bank, or debit-card information directly. NeonRoof does not intentionally store full card numbers, raw bank credentials, or full taxpayer identifiers through its publishing forms.
  • Diagnostics and security information: application version, operating-system and .NET versions, device name, last viewed section, crash details, IP address, browser or device information, and an optional screenshot when you send a report. Automatic launcher crash diagnostics are off by default and can be enabled or disabled in launcher Settings.

How we use information

We use information to operate accounts, deliver games and purchases, provide community features, prevent abuse and fraud, review marketplace submissions, respond to support requests, secure the platform, measure reliability, and meet legal obligations. Authorized platform owners can review recent account signups, authenticated website and launcher activity, and reporter-account details for trust, safety, fraud, and support operations.

When information is shared

We share only what is reasonably needed with infrastructure, storage, image-hosting, email, analytics, payment, fraud-prevention, and distribution providers that help operate NeonRoof. Public profiles, posts, marketplace listings, reviews, and similar content are visible according to the feature being used. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users, NeonRoof, and the public. Publisher identity and transaction information may be shared with Stripe, fraud and identity-verification providers, tax authorities, regulators, payment networks, or law enforcement when needed to process transactions, review eligibility, prevent abuse, or comply with law.

Storage, security, and retention

NeonRoof uses access controls, encrypted network connections, protected server secrets, and security logging. No system can guarantee perfect security. We retain information while it is needed for the account or service, to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, preserve transaction and moderation records, and satisfy legal obligations. Publisher KYC files, consent records, payment records, and transaction evidence may be retained as needed for verification, fraud prevention, refunds, chargebacks, tax reporting, legal claims, and regulatory duties even after a listing or publisher account is closed. Retention periods vary by record type.

Your controls

You can edit public profile information, manage community relationships, control optional crash diagnostics, and sign out from the platform. You may request export or deletion of eligible account data from Account and privacy controls, or request access and correction through NeonRoof Support. Some transaction, security, and moderation records may be retained when legally permitted or required.

Age-rated content, community, direct-message, and purchase permissions can be reviewed from Age & family safety. A saved birth date is locked to prevent control bypass; corrections are available through Support.

Children

NeonRoof is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under the minimum digital-consent age where you live. Teen accounts receive restrictive defaults and require a guardian approval link before protected features can be enabled. A parent or guardian should contact support if they believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date. Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through NeonRoof Support.
