AppleSkin makes Minecraft food mechanics easier to understand through food-value tooltips and hunger-bar overlays. It can show saturation, exhaustion, and previews of what eating a held food item would restore.
The mod presents information about existing mechanics rather than adding a new food system. The project notes that accurate saturation and exhaustion values in multiplayer require server support as well as the client mod.
