Reviewing Marathon

Marathon begins aboard a colony ship under attack by the alien Pfhor. As its security officer, you work through hostile decks, read computer terminals, and uncover the ship's increasingly complicated AI story. This is the 1994 game, not Bungie's newer extraction shooter. Does the download need Steam? No. The link is Aleph One's complete Windows ZIP with the original game data and executable. Extract it and launch Classic Marathon.exe. The gallery and trailer show the classic game. Marathon is the first game in a trilogy. Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon Infinity are separate downloads and have their own pages on NeonRoof. License and credits Aleph One engine code is GPLv3. Bungie's original game data and Marathon branding are separate copyrighted works made available for free play; they are not public domain or GPL assets. Store images are from the Aleph One team's Classic Marathon publisher page. Downloads come directly from the original project. NeonRoof does not host or repackage the game files.
