Transcendence starts with a ship and a long journey ahead. A promising wreck might hold the upgrade you need, or put you in the path of something your current shields cannot handle. Explore star systems, trade, take on enemies, and decide when a fight is worth the risk. The game mixes real-time space combat with the uncertainty of a roguelike. Many systems are procedurally generated, so learning how to adapt matters as much as remembering a route. Is Transcendence free? The standalone base game is free to download from Kronosaur Productions. Optional paid expansions are not included. This is not a claim that every asset or expansion is open source. Do I need Steam? No. The official ZIP contains the standalone Windows game. The trailer and gallery come from the developer's Transcendence press kit. Older promotional screenshots may differ from the current build.
