About FreeCAD

FreeCAD is a parametric 3D modeling application for design work where dimensions and editable construction history matter. Begin with a constrained sketch, turn it into geometry and revise the model by changing its parameters. Its workbenches support different engineering and design tasks. It complements an artistic modeling tool such as Blender when a project needs dimension-driven parts or physical prototypes.

Yes. The application is available without a purchase price under its published open-source license. Download links on this page point to the official project distribution.

Which Windows download is provided?

FreeCAD 1.1.4 for Windows x64. Run FreeCAD_1.1.4-Windows-x86_64-py311-installer.exe. Start with a small sketch-and-pad project before importing production CAD files.

Screenshots and licensing

The gallery uses official project images. Older interface screenshots and showcase models are identified in their captions; they illustrate workflows rather than certify this exact release. Each image retains its source and creator credit. The software license does not grant blanket rights to every imported artwork, font, codec or plugin.
