Kdenlive is a free, open-source video editor from the KDE community. Arrange video and audio tracks, trim clips, add titles and effects, work with subtitles and export a finished video. For an independent studio, a useful starting project is a short gameplay trailer with a clear opening, readable captions and a final wishlist or store link.

Yes. The application is available without a purchase price under its published open-source license. Download links on this page point to the official project distribution.

Which Windows download is provided?

Kdenlive 26.08.2 for Windows x64. Run kdenlive-26.08.2.exe and follow the Windows installer. Import copied footage, set an appropriate project profile and test a short export.
