About Krita

Krita is a free, open-source painting application made by artists for illustrators, concept artists, comic creators, texture painters, and animators. Its workspace centers on responsive brushes, layers, color management, assistants, and drawing tools rather than treating painting as a secondary photo-editing feature.

Artists can customize brush engines, use vector and raster layers, create frame-by-frame animation, work with perspective assistants, and organize panels for different creative tasks. Official packages are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, with supported Android editions distributed separately.

The Krita Foundation allows inclusion in free download sites under GPLv3 but limits commercial redistribution under its trademark. NeonRoof uses neutral artwork and keeps the reviewed package separate from paid store editions.
