About LibreSprite

LibreSprite is a free, open-source editor for pixel art and sprite animation. Artists can work with layers and frames, preview animation, use onion skinning, manage palettes, draw in tiled modes, and export common image and animation formats.

Its focused tools are useful for character sprites, effects, tiles, icons, interface art, and quick animation studies. Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android builds are available through the official project.

LibreSprite is distributed under GPL version 2. NeonRoof links to the official release and source and keeps the project separate from Aseprite, which uses different licensing for its current official releases.
