Natron
Combine footage, masks, keying and visual effects in a free node-based compositor with OpenFX support.
About Natron
Natron is a free, open-source compositor for assembling and processing images through a node graph. Connect readers, transforms, masks, keyers and other effects to build an editable image-processing chain. It is relevant to trailer shots, green-screen footage and layered visual effects. A compositor handles individual shots differently from a timeline editor, so it can complement Kdenlive or Shotcut in a production workflow.
Is Natron free?
Yes. The application is available without a purchase price under its published open-source license. Download links on this page point to the official project distribution.
Which Windows download is provided?
Natron 2.5.0 for Windows x64. Extract Natron-2.5.0-Windows-x86_64.zip, then follow the included installation instructions. This page links the stable 2.5.0 package; the separately listed 2.6 alpha is a different release.
How can it help an independent game or software project?
Combine footage, masks, keying and visual effects in a free node-based compositor with OpenFX support. Use original assets and test a small project before making it part of a larger workflow.
Screenshots and licensing
The gallery uses official project images. Older interface screenshots and showcase models are identified in their captions; they illustrate workflows rather than certify this exact release. Each image retains its source and creator credit. The software license does not grant blanket rights to every imported artwork, font, codec or plugin.
