Open 3D Engine
Build high-fidelity 3D games and simulations with a modular engine, visual editor, Script Canvas, and extensible Gems.
About Open 3D Engine
Open 3D Engine, commonly called O3DE, is a free, open-source engine for high-fidelity 3D games, simulations, robotics, and interactive worlds. Its editor brings together scene building, physically based rendering, animation, physics, terrain, audio, visual scripting, and project tools.
O3DE uses a modular Gem system so teams can add or replace engine capabilities. Developers can work with C++, Python tools, Script Canvas visual scripting, and public source while retaining control over their game code and production pipeline.
The engine defaults to Apache 2.0 and can also be used under MIT, while third-party components and assets have separate licenses. NeonRoof links to official builds, source, package notices, and community support and does not treat every bundled component as uniformly licensed.
Independent catalog listing. NeonRoof is not affiliated with or endorsed by Open 3D Foundation and contributors or the project's maintainers. The official project, creator, copyright holder, and license remain clearly credited. This catalog page may be published before a downloadable package is approved; no NeonRoof download is enabled until an administrator verifies the exact package, SHA-256 hash, malware scan, distribution rights, and applicable notices.
