About ReactOS

ReactOS is a free, open-source operating system developed to provide compatibility with Windows applications and drivers without using the Windows code base. It is a community engineering project and remains most appropriate for testing, development, education, and compatibility experimentation.

ReactOS 0.4.16 introduces a graphical installer, a combined boot and live image, and improvements across graphics, audio, networking, storage, cleanup tools, and third-party code synchronization. The project recommends virtual machines for testing and clearly distinguishes stable releases from less-tested development builds.

Most ReactOS code is GPL-licensed, with other compatible licenses used by some components. NeonRoof keeps the release image under detailed license and integrity review rather than mirroring the operating system automatically.
