About

About ScreenToGif

ScreenToGif is a free, open-source Windows recorder with an integrated animation editor. Capture a selected desktop region, record a webcam or sketchboard, then trim frames and prepare a compact demonstration. It is useful for showing a game mechanic, documenting a software bug or creating a small tutorial. GIF is useful for brief loops; longer footage may be better suited to a video workflow.

Is ScreenToGif free?

Yes. The application is available without a purchase price under its published open-source license. Download links on this page point to the official project distribution.

Which Windows download is provided?

ScreenToGif 2.43.2 for Windows x64. Run ScreenToGif.2.43.2.Setup.x64.msi. Choose a recording region, capture a short clip, review the frames and select a suitable export format.

How can it help an independent game or software project?

Record a screen region, webcam or drawing board and edit the result into GIFs, animations and short demonstration clips. Use original assets and test a small project before making it part of a larger workflow.

Screenshots and licensing

The gallery uses official project images. Older interface screenshots and showcase models are identified in their captions; they illustrate workflows rather than certify this exact release. Each image retains its source and creator credit. The software license does not grant blanket rights to every imported artwork, font, codec or plugin.
