About Shotcut

Shotcut is a free, open-source video editor led by Dan Dennedy and built on the MLT multimedia framework. It combines a flexible multi-format timeline with detailed audio, video, color, and export controls.

Editors can work with many formats without a separate import step, use filters and scopes, mix frame rates and resolutions, capture screens and devices, and export with hardware acceleration where supported. Windows, macOS, and Linux builds are offered through the official project.

The Shotcut team asks users to obtain packages from its official download page for its malware-free guarantee. NeonRoof therefore publishes the catalog information but leaves binary distribution disabled pending an explicit package-source review.

Independent catalog listing. NeonRoof is not affiliated with or endorsed by Dan Dennedy or the project's maintainers. The official project, creator, copyright holder, and license remain clearly credited. This catalog page may be published before a downloadable package is approved; no NeonRoof download is enabled until an administrator verifies the exact package, SHA-256 hash, malware scan, distribution rights, and applicable notices.

Rights review recorded September 8, 2026. Copyright: Meltytech, LLC, Dan Dennedy, and Shotcut contributors. Redistribution: Follow GPLv3 terms and the licenses of bundled multimedia components. Do not imply the official download guarantee applies to a third-party mirror. Attribution: Preserve project copyright, license, and component notices. Source obligations: Provide corresponding source for GPL-covered distributed binaries as required by GPLv3. Branding: Neutral NeonRoof artwork is used because software licensing does not automatically grant logo or trademark rights.
