GearHead 2 Reviews

Reviewing GearHead 2

GearHead 2 takes its mecha role-playing into a later chapter of the GearHead setting. Create a pilot, find equipment that suits your approach, and take on encounters where your character's abilities and your machine's design both matter. Its graphical interface keeps the series' detailed systems and old-school approach to exploration. Do I need the first GearHead? No. GearHead 2 is a separate game with its own executable and data. This download is the graphical SDL Windows edition, not the ASCII version. Which version is available? This listing links to Joseph Hewitt's original 0.701 Windows ZIP. It is a legacy release rather than a new commercial sequel, and it should not be confused with GearHead Caramel. Read the included configuration notes if you need to change the controls or window settings. The gameplay video comes from Joseph Hewitt. The gallery includes footage-era screenshots from earlier releases, so small interface details may differ. NeonRoof has checked the package structure but has not run a modern-Windows gameplay test. License and credits GearHead 2 is distributed under LGPL 2.1. The GearHead universe remains copyright Joseph Hewitt. Artwork and screenshots are credited to Joseph Hewitt and the GearHead contributors, copied unchanged, with the original license and source available through the linked repository.
