Talk shooters, servers, and independent games in the NeonRoof Discord community.
There is no single kind of free PC shooter. One night you may want a story-heavy science-fiction campaign; the next, a ten-minute arena match or a coordinated push with a full team. We went through NeonRoof's live FPS catalog and put every listed title in one place, with a picture and a direct link to its game page. This is a directory to explore, not a ranking. Start with the FPS and indie shooter browse page if you would rather filter the catalog yourself.

Campaigns, strange worlds, and old-school experiments
These games make room for solo exploration, classic level design, or a different spin on first-person combat. The three classic Marathon campaigns have separate listings so you can follow the story in order.

Anarch
Explore a tiny, portable 1990s-style first-person world built from scratch with public-domain code and art.

Cube 2: Sauerbraten
Play old-school single-player and multiplayer FPS modes while building and editing octree maps cooperatively in real time.

Marathon Infinity
The final classic Marathon campaign twists through competing timelines, alien battles, and the series' most ambitious story.

Phantom Overload
Hunt and evade phantoms across procedurally generated worlds in an atmospheric Godot first-person shooter.
Arena shooters built for movement
If you measure a match by your next jump, strafe, and weapon pickup, this is the place to start. Some have active community servers; others are worth opening for their maps, bots, or game-making tools.

Alien Arena
Fight through fast sci-fi arena matches with classic modes, bots, and online multiplayer.

Chaos Esque Anthology
Fight, build, drive, explore, and experiment with a huge collection of weapons and maps in an open shooter sandbox.

Teams, objectives, tactics, and building
Here the fight is often bigger than one duel: capture a flag, hold a position, build a base, or coordinate a class. Check each game page for the current download route and any setup caveats.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
A free World War II team FPS built around classes, map objectives, and coordinated Axis-versus-Allies matches.
A note about ETQW: the NeonRoof listing is for a community client manager, not a free copy of the original commercial game. You still need legitimate game data to play. Likewise, the Xonotic entry is clearly marked as an unofficial community release, not a Team Xonotic publication.
Free to download does not always mean that every map, texture, logo, or piece of music has an open license. The linked game pages spell out the known distribution and artwork terms, along with screenshots, video, support, and the source of the download. If a community server is quiet, try another game in the same group. There is plenty here to explore without pretending every shooter feels the same.

Quick answers before you play
Where can I browse every free FPS on NeonRoof?
Use the FPS and indie shooter catalog, then open a game page for screenshots, videos, support, and download information.
Does NeonRoof host the game downloads?
The ten newest FPS additions use direct URLs for the original Windows packages instead of NeonRoof-hosted game binaries. Other listings may use different official or community routes; the individual page explains which one applies.
Is the ETQW client launcher the full free game?
No. It helps players reach the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars community, but it does not include the original commercial game data. You need a legitimate copy of that data.

For a shorter starting list, read our six free FPS picks or the broader free FPS guide. Our OpenArena feature goes deeper on a classic arena shooter, while the ETQW playing guide explains the community client and original-game requirement.
